Brisbane CBD walking tour

From Engineering Heritage Queensland

Brisbane was established in the late 1800s and was designated a city in 1902. Since then, there have been significant engineering achievements which have contributed to the City's development.

In 1981, Engineers Australia’s Queensland Heritage Panel published Brisbane’s first engineering heritage trail. In 2001 Engineers Australia published the first edition of a Walk/Drive Tour of Inner Brisbane to recognise these engineering achievements of the past.

Engineering Heritage Queensland (EHQ) hopes that this revised and reprinted (2015) second edition of its illustrated walk–drive tour will enrich the understanding and enjoyment of Brisbane’s engineering heritage and its history for tourists, students, researchers and residents alike.

Safety ----- While exploring, please consider your safety at all times and be especially mindful of vehicles when crossing roads and stepping back to admire the engineering works of this beautiful city.
